International Animal Welfare Meetings - Sanur 24 / 29

Around 250 delegates from countries in asia europe and the united states along with representatives from 10 animal welfare will gather in Sanur from august 24 to 29.

The participant will include the london-based world society for the protection of animals (WSPA),The animal society of taiwan (EAST),and the korean animal welfare association (kawa).

Bali was selected as the conferencesite because many animal owners on the island were still treating pets or livestocks in a poor manner.

The new law was expected to grant more power and the governments animals welfare foundations and the governments animal husbandary agencies as well as stipulate firmer punish ments for those who abuse animal.

With heavier legal sanctions there will be a new hope for a more conducive atmosphere on animal welfare in this country.

This law is already out of date and in desperate need of improvement as it doesnt view animals from the animal welfare perspective and only stipulates minimum legal sanction for violators.
